when someone tells you that you’re not a Christian because you believe in gay rights. Or when you’re completely okay with the fact that people are gay. I’m pretty sure that I’m a better Christian than they are by accepting people for their differences. I’m also pretty sure that no where in the bible did it say to love thy neighbor as thy self (unless they’re gay.) The Bible is a book written by man, later to be interpreted by man. I’m not saying that if you’re Christian and a homophobe you’re bad but chill people! God wanted us to love everyone. Had Jesus not done that, he would have never spoken to the women at the well, or healed those that were sick. In this day and age we shouldn’t be talking about civil rights; human rights! We are all people. We all fall in love. Love should NEVER be wrong.
I am a strong supporter. I love my gay friends. I love my straight friends. I am (mostly) proud to call myself a Christian. I believe in gay marriage, gay adoption and gay rights.
One day, I hope to meet the girl or boy of my dreams. My best friend and his husband will be there watching me. My best girl friends will be at my side, their husbands in the pews. This is what I vow.
